Cork’s coffee houses are once again going to keep their doors open into the evening this weekend with another Coffee House Lates. Independent cafés will open late for an exciting range of free events on Friday, March 13 and Monday March 16. Coffee House Lates is once again turning participating businesses into hubs of creativity and connection after dark. All events are free to attend and many are within walking distance so it’s a great opportunity to do a trail from venue to venue.
115 CAFE, OLIVER PLUNKETT STREET – FRIDAY MARCH 13
We’re keeping the grinders running late for a special Coffee House Lates session, with Cork DJ Childish Lambino taking over the decks for an evening of smooth disco house grooves. Expect warm cups, good vibes, and a laid-back dance floor as Lambino serves up a selection of feel-good cuts, funky basslines and late-night rhythms. Whether you’re dropping in for a coffee, a cocktail, or a little boogie, settle in and let the music carry you through the night.
RUAIRI’S KITCHEN, HIGH STREET – FRIDAY MARCH 13
At Ruairi’s Kitchen, we believe some of the best recipes aren’t found in cookbooks—they’re passed down through generations, perfected at kitchen tables, and guided by instinct rather than measurements. That’s why we’re proud to present “Irish Mammies Know Best”, a live baking demonstration celebrating the heart and heritage of traditional Irish home baking. This special event brings together two generations in the kitchen— Ruairi and his mother, Jean—to share the time-honoured techniques, stories, and flavours that define Irish baking at its best.
BAKESTONE, PERRY STREET – FRIDAY MARCH 13 until 7.30pm
Join Bakestone for a relaxed evening of live music with the Colin McLean Duo, bringing vibrant Latin rhythms to the café. Cork-based guitarist Colin McLean is a familiar face at cultural and food events across the city, including Cork on a For. His warm, uplifting sound will create the perfect atmosphere to ease into the evening.
PLUG’D CORNMARKET STREET – FRIDAY MARCH 13 6.30pm to 10pm
Outside In
Plugd Records and Brian’s Wines present a late-night Screen & Spin experience.
Enjoy a curated selection of experimental film soundtracked live with ambient and electronic music on vinyl. Relax with a coffee and settle in for an immersive evening of sound and visuals.
Live Irish Music & Treats
Join Dukes Cafe from 6:30pm as Mike O’Riordan performs a lively selection of Irish songs. Enjoy interesting Irish coffees, along with complimentary sweet and savoury Irish-inspired bites with every beverage purchased.
Great music, great flavours, and a perfect Irish evening.
THE LOUGH CAFE – MONDAY MARCH 16 5pm
Enjoy live guitar and vocals performing a mix of genres in a relaxed evening setting in The Lough Cafe on Monday evening from 5pm. The perfect way to unwind before the main Parade on St Patrick’s Day.
