Taste Your Way Through Cork City: Cork on a Fork Festival Returns this August

Full programme announced

Get ready to taste your way through Cork City during Cork on a Fork Fest this August 13th-17th – a five-day celebration of the city’s vibrant food and drinks scene, local chefs and producers, and the region’s unique food heritage.

This festival isn’t just about eating food. It’s about celebrating the hands that make it, the land and sea that provide it, and the innovators who are producing and cooking it. Cork on a Fork Fest shines a spotlight on the unique stories and sustainable practices that define Cork’s world-class food culture.

Cork on a Fork Fest is a festival for all ages and palettes with pop-up dinners in unique venues, street events, food trails, tasting masterclasses, producer and farm bus tours, free cooking demonstrations with well-known chefs, talks and markets at the Emmet Place Festival Stage all weekend, and a dedicated family friendly programme.

Headline events include:

  • The VQ Shared Table – a long table outdoor dinner experience for 450 people on MacCurtain Street, which sees 20 businesses collaborate on a menu filled with local produce.
  •  Farm to Fork Chef Collaboration at Glenbrook Farm, which sees chefs Pamela Kelly from Farmgate and Chris Braganza, The Spice Genie, cook a zero mile menu for 60 guests in a cow shed, with all produce sourced from the farm.
  • Supper by the Fountain which sees the ground floor of Cork City’s historic English Market transformed into a stunning dining space for the first time ever, with all produce sourced from the market.
  • An exclusive Producers Bus Tour celebrating some of Cork’s best food producers in East Cork with behind-the-scenes tastings and insights into their craft.
  • Afternoon Tea on the Train where FoodCloud chefs will transform surplus ingredients into a sustainable, gourmet afternoon tea served on board a train.
  • The programme also features over 25 free chef demos and talks at the Emmet Place Festival Stages all weekend, with Cork’s top local and international chefs and industry experts from Michelin Starred chef Takashi Miyazaki to household favourites like Clodagh McKenna.

The festival shines a light on the dedicated farmers, growers and small producers that Cork is famous for. Visitors can join farm visits, market tours, producer tastings, and bite-sized talks to learn about the craft behind each ingredient. Whether it’s award-winning cheeses, the freshest seafood straight from the Atlantic, or local dishes like spiced beef and tripe and drisheen, you’ll find plenty of inspiration (and delicious tastings) along the way.

Cork is also home to some of Ireland’s best distilleries and breweries. The festival offers workshops, tours, pairings, and tasting events featuring local drinks, giving visitors a chance to sip, savour, and explore Cork’s vibrant drinks scene.

Cork has been a farm to-fork destination since its origins as a trading port in the 10th century, and led the way in Ireland’s modern food movement.  Nestled by the second-largest natural harbour in the world and surrounded by rich farmland, the region is home to 60% of Ireland’s artisan producers.  From Atlantic seafood and artisan cheeses to spiced beef, and tripe and drisheen, our food really tells a story.  You’ll discover something delicious around every corner of this world class gastronomy destination.  Come hungry. Leave inspired.

Cork on a Fork Fest is organised and supported by Cork City Council in partnership with local businesses and key partners such as Fáilte Ireland, Pure Cork, Cork Airport, Cork Business Association, the IHF Cork branch, the Irish Examiner, and Cork’s RedFM.

Many events are free, while others are ticketed and require advance booking due to high demand – with some already sold out. For more see corkonaforkfest.ie, sign up for the newsletter or follow @corkonaforkfest on social media for updates.
