The winners of the Cork Better Building Awards 2016 were announced on Friday November 11th at an Awards Luncheon in the River Lee Hotel.With over a hundred entries received this ensured very strong competition among the seven different categories .The awards for 2016 went to Keane’s Jewellers Oliver Plunkett Street for Best in Retail. There was a Special Merit award made in this category to Superdry on Partick Street.
Dan Lowrey’s Mc Curtain Street for Best in Pub Front.
Currans Restaurant Adelaide Street for Best in Restaurant.
Matt Fallon South Mall. for Best in Heritage & Conservation.
AIB North Main Street for Best in Commercial Business Frontage (excluding retail)
One Albert Quay for Best New Development.
The Imperial Hotel for Best in Tourism, Arts & Accommodation.
There was also a Judges choice award which was open to all entries including category winners. This award went to Alchemy Cafe & Bookstore 123 Barrack Street
